I don’t know where to start. It’s been so long since I wrote on this blog. Life has changed for the better I believe, but only the future that God has determined will be indicative of that. I think my struggle with the fact that my future is so undecided has been really weighing on my heart. Sometimes, I rest my life in God’s hands, but many times I try to take my future in my own hands. A verse in Jeremiah seems to come to mind when I begin to take the future into my own hands. ”For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”‘ Constantly reminding myself that God has the where part figured out, gives me hope. I want my desire to have control to cease and His control increase. Ahhh, just some thoughts.

I struggle daily with this concept, for there are so many different ways to Worship God. I’ve been to Old school Baptist Churches, Pentecostal Churches, Presbyterian Churches, and Non-Denominational Churches. All these communities of faith had different styles of Worship, which range from Organ based Hymns to Rock & Roll Contemporary songs. I find myself leaning more toward the Rock & Roll Contemporary songs, but I find it hard to believe that we should run away from Hymn based music. I began to flip through my Southern Baptist Hymn Book recently and I noticed the depth of the lyrics that encompassed each song. The Hymnbook is topically based, so we have a topic on how to Worship God. Whether it be Sanctification, Salvation, etc. it is all based on Christ! Let us keep pressing toward the Savior in our Worship to Him by writing songs that reveal truth about Him in Scripture. Here is one truth to chew on from John 4:23-24 — ‘”23But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. 24God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”‘

Man when someone says that the Christian life is easy; they are wrong. The Christian walk is a life of faith and dedication. You see these great men and women of faith throughout scripture. They never have it easy and handed to them. They are constantly pursuing God and falling to struggles on the way, but that is the greatness of God. He accepts us the way we are, but we must passionately pursue Him. If we lose sight of the Prize, we begin to place faith in ourselves and not in Christ. I love living this walk of faith and I cannot wait to see what is going to happen in the next few years of my life. I will continue to struggle, but I know that my God loves me and He loves you just the way you are as well.
