Demanding excellence is necessary, for if Christ gave His second best, we would all be screwed. I understand many times that we try to give our second best, but are we really trying. If Christ wanted to give His second best, He wouldn’t have died for our sins. However, Christ gave his all and He died a death that He did not deserve to pay. Through that death, He payed for our sins. So does Christ demand our best? I would have to say yes. Whether it be in sharing the Gospel, speaking, school, or playing music on Sunday mornings, He demands excellence. People are going to begin to say that we are not perfect and I know we are not. That is why we need a Savior, but we can give our excellence in everything. I love when Paul talks about running the race towards the prize and never giving up. I challenge you to live a life like that, constantly running after the prize.

Demanding Excellence

I give my best when I let the Jesus inside of me stand up and give His best through me. Without Him I can do nothing. When I try to give my best, I always fall short, because too much of me is seen. You are right, we need to give our best. Our best is yielding to the Spirit of Christ, so he can minister through us.
