Leadership

by Josh on May 21, 2009

I was dwelling today on Christ and the leadership that He exhibited throughout His life.  You see the life of Jesus and you can’t help but notice that He was a great leader.  People dropped their daily lives to follow after Jesus, even when they didn’t know where they were going.  I take a look now at practically how can I become more like Jesus in the leadership aspect.  First in Christ, I see love unconditional.  Christ loved people,  He reached out to them no matter the circumstance.  The adulterous lady was about to be stoned and Jesus stepped in and basically flipped people upside down.  He communicated very clearly and made known the Fathers will.  Additonally, He stood upon truth.  He did not lie to gain, but He stood upon what He knew was truth and came from the Father.

Leadership this day whether it be in a company or Church has become so corrupted.  We lie, cheat, and steal in order to get our way and move up on society.  I’m not saying we don’t make mistakes, but we should strive to be the leader that Jesus is and will always be.  I think about it like when I first began walking as a baby.  I stumbled a few times and fell over, but eventually I began to keep my balance.  I started to run, once in a while hitting a wall or falling over.  Now, I run in a direction, but sometimes that can get off; therefore I need the guidance of a Savior to keep me on path.  Being a leader means striving after Christ’s leadership qualities and knowing that mercy and grace are there when we fall.
